CHAPTER 24
“I’m parched. Can I get you a drink?” he offered.
“Water, please.”
He rolled over out of bed and left the room, headed to the kitchen. I loved watching his tight ass and rippling back muscles work in concert, leaving me breathless again. I shoved my head in a pillow and screamed like a school girl, because, well – that’s how he made me feel. Like a teenage girl.
I sat up just as he sauntered in all of his naked glory back into the bedroom with two ice cold water bottles and a white cardboard box. He handed me a bottle of water, which I took and drank nearly half of, then I set my eyes on the box. “So what’s that?” I asked.
“Energy,” he said with a smirk.
“I don’t follow,” I replied thoroughly confused.
He set his water bottle aside and, sitting across from me, carefully opened the box. Peering inside, I gasped. “Chocolate cake,” I sighed. Since Jess and I had started working out at the gym, I’d sworn off all these goodies, and here sat one, a gorgeous one at that, in the very naked lap of one very sexy man.
He slowly sunk a fork into the cake then dangled the end of it, with its sweet smelling bite, mere millimeters from my lips. “The best chocolate cake,” he said. “Flourless chocolate cake, coated in chocolate ganache.”
My mouth was watering.
“Do you like chocolate?” he asked, brushing the piece on my lip. My tongue darted out and licked at the ganache left behind. Mmmmm. Pure heaven.
Suddenly he swung the bite into his mouth.
“Hey, that’s not fair!” I whined, swatting at his arm.
“And neither is your sex appeal every time you walk by me. Every time you look at me. Every time you talk to me.” I sat stunned. Do I really affect him like that? I knew that I was a gooey mess when I looked at him, but look at him! He’s gorgeous! Kevin’s got rippling muscles and creamy, tanned skin with well-crafted tattoos adorning his skin. His hair, and his eyes and his mouth. And his voice, its deep timbre.
He cut another bite and slid it onto the fork, then brought it to my mouth. Staring each other in the eye, he slipped the bite into my mouth. With the words he had just delivered, the cake tasted all the more delicious. Savoring the sumptuous bite, I pondered what he said.
I loved watching him chew.
He served me another bite, then slid another bite into his mouth and chewed, his tongue darting out to catch a crumb. Oh, how I wanted to be that crumb.
“So, you like chocolate, huh?” he smirked, as I moaned with the next bite.
“Correction. Love. And what’s not to love? It’s good for you. Especially dark chocolate. It has antioxidants,” I said.
He leaned in and kissed the corner of my mouth, his tongue darting out to collect a speck that must have been left behind.
I smirked as he fed me another bite.
“Chocolate is the food of the gods,” he said, serving me another bite.
